About MDRRMO
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Diffun, Quirino, is dedicated to ensuring the safety, preparedness, and resilience of the municipality against natural and human-induced disasters.
Established in compliance with the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 (RA 10121), the MDRRMO serves as the primary office for disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, response, and recovery efforts.
With a focus on community involvement, training, and sustainable risk reduction strategies, the MDRRMO aims to protect lives, properties, and the environment while fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience.
As mandated by RA 10121, the MDRRMO was established to provide a comprehensive framework for disaster risk reduction and management. This includes activities such as conducting disaster preparedness drills, educating communities, and identifying hazard-prone areas to mitigate risks.
The office also leads disaster response efforts, coordinating rescue and relief operations during emergencies, and aids in recovery and rehabilitation, helping rebuild lives and infrastructure after calamities.
Situated in Diffun, a municipality in Quirino province surrounded by natural resources like forests and rivers, the MDRRMO addresses the unique challenges posed by geographic factors, such as typhoons, floods, and landslides.
Over the years, the MDRRMO has implemented early warning systems, conducted extensive community training programs, and forged partnerships with national agencies such as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and PAGASA to enhance disaster resilience and preparedness.
Through collaboration with local government units, schools, barangays, and volunteers, the MDRRMO has established itself as a pillar of safety and readiness in the municipality.
